The Young Lions pre-selection of the 59th annual 2012 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has been held with Akmerkez's sponsorship.

The teams that will be competing were announced at a ceremony held at Akmerkez.

The most dynamic part of the Cannes Lions Festival is that it is a sanctuary of creativity in the world of advertising and communications. The pre-selection process in Turkey of the Young Lions Competition had a high level of participation under Akmerkez's sponsorship. Giving a speech at the Young Lions award ceremony Dr. Nur Ziyaoğlu Aytekin, Brand Manager of Akmerkez, stated that they were more than happy to carry out projects for young adults. He further stated, "We once again took the opportunity to support young adults when Doğan Burda, Turkey representative of the festival, offered us the sponsorship of Cannes Young Lions. We are pleased to contribute to this competition that gathers the brightest minds in the Turkish communication, marketing and advertising fields."

Eight creative young people were chosen to represent Turkey at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity; in the young marketers, film, Internet and press categories.

Under the sponsorship of Akmerkez, the Young Lions Turkey Pre-Selections were held thanks to the collaboration of Doğan Burda and the Advertising Foundation and Advertisers' Association supported by Getty Images. The winners will represent Turkey in the competition to be held on June 17-24. Creatives under 28 and marketers under 30 that attended the pre-selections in Turkey at Akmerkez were given only 24 hours in which to prepare their work. In total, 31 teams in the film category, 18 in the internet category, 53 in the press category and 7 in the young marketers' category competed. In the pre-selections process the head of the jury for the young marketers, film, and press categories was the Creative Director of Young&Rubicam, Ozan Varışlı. The head of the jury for the cyber category was Musa Paça from Rabarba.

In Turkey pre-selections of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity were sponsored by Akmerkez. The jury's choice of teams that will go to Cannes are as follows:

Colorful Stones Event

Little guests of Akmerkezcan paint stones to their heart's content in the "Colorful Stones" event.Children can use the stones they colored on Saturday, April 21 as trinkets for their desks or paperweights.On April 21, the Colorful Stones event will be held from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Akmerkez Food Court.

Little Farmers Event

On Sunday, April 22, children can become farmers.They will learn to grow wheatgrass and discover the scientifically proven benefits of "wheatgrass juice."On Sunday, April 22, the Little Farmers event will be held from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Akmerkez Food Court.

April 23 Event

Join in the spirit of Children's Day on April 23 with daylong events at Akmerkez and wherechildren will enjoy a fun day with their peers! On Monday, April 23, little friends of Akmerkez will meet at 13:00 at Food Court for fun activities.As in past years, guests canenjoyan excellent performance bythe Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions Major Orchestra in Akmerkez's E Block Lower Floor.
